Naylor Emory - Owner/Manager

Mr. Emory taught mathematics, driver education, and coached several sports for the Shaler Area School District for over 30 years. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's Degree in Education with teaching degrees in math and driver's education. He also has a Master's in Education degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Safety Education. While with Shaler Area, he taught driver's education theory classes and did behind the wheel (BTW) instruction. When the district dropped the driving program, he joined the faculty at the Community College of Allegheny and taught driver education theory classes and BTW for several years.

Upon retiring, Mr. Emory was hired by the Auto Club Driving Schools division of AAA-Western Pennsylvania to open a driving school in the Pittsburgh area. Mr. Emory wrote the school's curriculum and obtained state licensing. Early on, he taught all theory and BTW classes. In the next few years, he hired and trained over a half dozen faculty members and had three classroom locations.

John Ignatius - Assistant Manager

Mr. Ignatius also has two degrees in driver education. He was a Slippery Rock University graduate with a B.S. Education degree in physical education and driver's education. He later earned a Master's degree in Safety Education from the University of Pittsburgh.

Mr. Ignatius retired from the North Hills School District with 36 years of teaching, coaching and officiating experience. He has experience in classroom theory instruction and BTW. He has worked with private driving schools such as Will Rogers and Safe Drive Technologies.

Mr. Ignatius has served as the past president of PASE, the Community College of Allegheny Country (CCAC) Motorcycle Instruction and was a motorcycle examiner for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation motorcycle exam. In the 1980's, he authored the Pennsylvania State Curriculum for the Department of Education. Mr. Ignatius also co-authored the Pennsylvania Driver Examination that all driving instructors in Pennsylvania must pass to become certified to teach Pennsylvania's drivers. If that isn't enough, he can also be found teaching CPR classes for the American Red Cross several times each month.

Ron Meeder   Training and Curriculum Supervisor

Ron Meeder was one of the best "hires" Mr. Emory made during his time at AAA.  Before the AAA hiring, Ron had been a school bus driver for over 20 years.  By the time he applied to AAA he was training the school bus drivers for Laidlaw Corporation.  For the Human Resource Department at AAA the hiring was simple.  The Human Resource Department's reasoning was "if he can teach people to drive school buses, then he should be able to teach people to drive a car!"

After his successful years at AAA, Ron went with many of the AAA staff to the merge with "Safe-Drive Technologies."  Again, he taught behind the wheel instruction.  At this time, he also added computerized simulator instruction to his repertoire.

In the past several years, Mr. Meeder has earned a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Examiner's status to test new school bus drivers for their licenses and also tests experienced drivers for their renewal status.

Mr. Meeder's bus training also includes "Highway Watch" certification through the Department of Homeland Security.  He also has School Transportation Security Awareness (STSA) certification through the Department of Homeland Security and the National School Transportation Administration.
